loreto primary school

The Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM), also known as Loreto, was founded by Mary Ward at St. Omar in Flanders in 1609. Today there are Loreto schools on five continents. The mission of Loreto Convent in Strand, similar to other Loreto schools, is to be an all-inclusive value-centred community that provides a distinctive faith-based learning experience that will contribute to the academic, moral and spiritual formation that develops and fosters each learner’s gifts and potential. Loreto gives priority to the integration of the spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical and emotional development of the individual person of the child.

Loreto Convent strives to provide a vibrant, holistic and all inclusive learning community, where each learner is valued and nurtured towards their own full potential. Freedom, dignity, personal integrity, moral courage and social responsibility are emphasized through the Catholic ethos of the school.

Extra-murals: Athletics, Tennis, Cricket, Chess, Netball, Soccer, Junior and Senior Choir, Private music tuition is offered in piano, recorder and guitar, Speech and Drama, Poetry Eisteddfod.
